I miss them every time when I have to disable them for a new patch, so I guess I need them. I don't have many mods and try to avoid those big mods that overhaul entire systems. Most of them are meant to fix the game or 'correct' design choices I don't like. Even if I have just a few, the ones I do have are necessary for my game play style.
