Are You Dependent on Mods to Play TS4?

I do not need or have used any mods since Sims series began and some act surprised when an player say they never used an MOD to enhance or even fix one's game. I have used what you call cheats in other games and I saw how some some of those cheats had screwed up an game and some are equal to some core mods where your game is screwed and only way to get rid of an core mod is to uninstall and reinstall and the same went for some cheats in other games such GTA. Seeing that I made an pledge not to use mods in Sims series and just play vanilla if it was an technical issue I worked around it as I am computer literate. I am tempted sometimes to use mods to enhance my play as I like some of the mods attributes but do not wish to go through the hassle of updating when EA/Maxis decides they want to fix something in the game and it tends to break them. I do commend the modders on making them though for they show me sometimes that they know more about the game than EA/Maxis.
