Are your mermaids worthless?

I have a problem. An actual mermaid problem. My very first mer, a female named Maka, is straight up worthless.

Hear me out, she got pregnant quicker than expected, but I thought it would be okay. Her partner was skilled with food, and hardiness, etc. And she was family oriented, and Awesome. Or so I thought.

For some reason, she is buggy beyond acceptable limits. Yes toddlers got messed up, and island living broke things.

But she was the only one doing these things.

1. Staring at the toddler instead of feeding, cleaning, bathing, putting it to sleep. The twins almost died more than 10 times! It'd be hours later, and I find her blocking the bed. Or holding applesauce, while the kids meltdown. I aged them up before a week had gone by. She still sucked.
2. She can't walk at a normal pace. What takes other sims seconds/sim minutes, takes her hours. Like our hours. I've had the kids go to school, come back, do hw, play, eat, and sleep. Her wife upgrade 20 objects, garden, cook, and parent ,before she PICKED UP A SHELL.
3. She literally can't even do her job as a conservationist. I just cheat her now.

Why? Why is she like this? I made another family. This one with a mer father, and teens who are the kelp. Guess who doesn't get stuck trying to pick up shells?

All of those members were made post updates, with glitches rampant, and none act like her.

So I take the issue to you, good simmers. Do any of you have mermaids that just aren't getting it? Incompetent in ways that astound and disgust? Or did I simply get the weakest fin?

  • I seem to keep making mermaids to clean up the nature reserve but they just spend the time in the sea. I mean I know your a mermaid and like to swim but wouldn't you want to swim in a clean ocean? ;)

Have you tried resetting your mermaid? Type testingcheats true in the console, then shift click the mermaid and there should be an option to reset sim or reset object. Moving her into another household loading that one and then moving her back might work, too.

I've actually been having issues with the reset sim cheat recently. It does reset the Sim, but they then stay stuck in the T pose, not being completely reset - so basically they're still stuck. The only thing that seems to help is to go through a loading screen.
This issue is random though and doesn't stick to a particular Sim or anything.

But my merman has been completely fine.

You have that too? But it happens more with my regular sims, than the mermaid. And yeah I've reset her over, and over again. She tries my patience. Which sucks, because I made her pretty awesome.
