Whenever my sims go on vacation, within one or two days of arrival they receive a bill for an astonishingly huge amount of money, which bears no relationship to their normal bills at home and/or the cost of renting their holiday accommodation. This is happening irrespective of whether they are in Selvadorada, or in Granite Falls. The latest bill my sims received was for over 80 000 simoleans, which was a real shocker. Fortunately, these sims are very rich indeed, so they could afford to pay it, but surely this is not right? Is this happening to anyone else, or is it only me? I have LittleMissSam's auto-pay-bills mod, so that might be one possible cause, but I don't want to remove my (very few) mods if the problem is with the game itself. Can anyone throw any light on the subject?

No, this has been a bug since OR released back in 2015. I avoid being on vacation on a Monday, which is when bills are delivered (in my game anyway, I don't know if it's the same for everyone).

I do believe MCCC has an auto pay for bills, if you'd like to try that, although I don't remember exactly where.

I still have my 14000 Simoleons in bills. I now have no electricity and no water at my teen's house! Call it an experiment, but I want to see what else they cut off (LP gas maybe), then what? They can only cut off/confiscate so much. It's not like they can take my teen's CAR from her (Ha! Take that, Sims4!) :wink: ! Plus that's almost half of what I paid for the house! I'd rather be homeless with bills that high! :open_mouth:

I could be wrong, but I thought they fixed that. I don't get those big bills while on vacation any more. I don't have Jungle Adventures so maybe it's related to that or possibly mod related.

I could be wrong, but I thought they fixed that. I don't get those big bills while on vacation any more. I don't have Jungle Adventures so maybe it's related to that or possibly mod related.

Are you keeping what they find because your bills are based off what you have in your house and inventory. So if you are keeping what they have collected your bills will be high.

I think it has to be mods that are causing the problem. My Sims are rich and normally have high payments, 22,000+ per week. On vacation in JA after collecting all kinds of artifacts from excavation and buying everything from the vendors for 5 days, their inventories were Huge. I feared what their payment would be when Monday came. It was actually only 24,000 something. I have many LittleMsSams mods (but not the auto-pay-bills one), plus a few other big ones. So I would have to suggest you test your mods because 80,000 is outrageous.

Thanks for the info. It started happening with me when I got JA, but I only bought OR a couple of days ago (after JA), so I was not aware of the problem.

The 80 000 simolean bill happened after I had sold of most of what they had collected, so I don't think it is connected with the value of their inventory. Also, it only happens while they are on vacation. Once they return home, their bills return to normal, although their inventories don't always change much.

I'll try taking out my mods and see whether that helps.

I think it must have been the auto-pay-bills mod that was causing the problem in my game. I took it out and since then my bills on vacation have been closer to normal. Still rather high, but more realistic.

This just happened to me! I didn't make the connection to vacation, but they WERE on vacation when it happened. In fact, I paid the bill, then just a day or so later when still on vacation, got ANOTHER enormous bill. I figured it was a bug and just cheated the funds, but man, it freaked me out there for a minute.

The largest one I've seen was 14000 Simoleons! My Sim (an orphan teenager) has been in Selvadorada for about 2 weeks (going on 3 now) - not worried about school BTW.

I can only assume that it has to do with her inventory bursting at the seams with artifacts and relics. If I recall correctly, the billing amount is the value of your Sims property (higher-end appliances add X amount of value to your property and X amount to the bills). Same thing goes to items your Sims have dug up in the jungle and so forth. At least, that my understanding of how it works.

I generally take my Sim to the jungle after the bills have been auto paid. I gather artifacts for a couple of days and either sell them at the flea market or have a yard sale, that way I make money and don't have outrageous bills.
