When it comes to freeing the babies, I'm sure there are a variety of ideas as to how it would happen, but I sometimes get the impression that several people expect to open their game after the "free babies" patch and just *poof* all the object babies are now sim babies.
Yes! Exactly! 100%! just like what happened for the babies in Freeplay. One day, they could suddenly just crawl around, be rocked in a rocking chair, play in a baby walker, play with toys like xylophones, build little baby skills. It was great. That was a beautiful day. What is taking Sims 4 babies so long? How come they don't even have a little rattle in their crib to shake around?
And while I don't mod, I do understand coding concepts, and I'm not convinced that the code can do that. So what if it can't? What if they can't just poof the baby out of the bassinette?
That is not my problem *shrugs shoulders* they need to talk to the coders who poofed the babies out of the bassinets over on Sims Freeplay team or pack the baby and cradle in a package and send it to someone else who knows how. Even if they have to send the baby all the way to coders in another country who know how to free the baby, they should do that.
What "price" are you willing to "pay" for Free babies? Not in terms of money, but in terms of disruption to your saves to get them?
Like permanent disruption? Like a buggy baby worse then a wedding cake? ummm .. not sure .. but if it's a buggy baby I hope it's a free update.
What if they simply add a new life stage between newborn and toddler, and reduce the object baby stage to something like 6 sim hours on Normal life span? Are you willing to accept object babies for half a day (or less) to get 2-3 sim days (normal lifespan) with free babies?
That would be totally fine. My object babies rarely live longer than 6 minutes. They only get one bottle and make a diaper change and then poof they are walking toddlers, so I think it would be really fun to have an infant stage in a crib and then a baby stage outside the crib. I might leave more babies in their cribs to knit onesies for if my Sims had other babies that were active Sims.
What if freeing the babies breaks saves? Are you willing to start over?
But the new saves are okay? Sure, I will start over. I am not attached to any of my current saves. I delete them and start new ones all the time, but why would it break a save file? I've only played Sims 4 for a few years, has that happened before? I don't want a baby that destroys saves for other people, maybe they should make it an optional pack or feature then.
What if freeing the babies just deletes all existing babies in your save?
No. I do not want terminator baby in my game. :joy:
Fun questions. I really hope we get freed babies one day, but I want other things first like more supernatural packs and more improvements and bug fixes to existing packs, so I don't have any problem waiting longer for the babies, since the toddlers are still fun for family gameplay.
