At what point do you break up a couple?

Since Sims3 (my first game), I never allowed MY Sims to get a divorce. It's a " 'til Death do you part" type of deal! >:)
As far as the premade Sims (when I used to play them), it depends on their relationship with their spouses. As an example: Morgana Wolff and Thornton Wolff - I nearly always divorced Thornton. Morgana wanted to have kids and a big family. Thornton had commitment issues and dislike children. Kept together, one of them would've been unhappy. I gave them both a new start on life by having them divorce.
Sims4 premade Sims, I've only played with the Pancakes family but I didn't divorce them.
My Sims have STOLEN the spouses from many households, over the years - both in Sims3 and Sims4! Will I do it again? Of course! >:) I love a little bit of drama in my game!
