At what point do you break up a couple?

When it feels forced and ingenuous, basically, when they fall out of love.
I've divorced/ broken up two couples.
The first because the spouse was too lazy, and kept bringing women over while his husband was at work. (5 at once! Autonomously! They just kept coming). I felt bad because they had a step son and adopted son together, kids that don't deserve to be tossed around again.
The other because I liked the 'idea' of them, and forced them together, but they never had chemistry. They each ended up meeting their respective soulmates right after they broke up.
I'm disappointed when marriages don't work out, but I'd rather get them over and done with and move on to something better. So I just shrug it off and divorce!
Otherwise I kill one of the sims off, so the marriage didn't technically 'fail'. But I have no qualms about splitting up married townies, unless I like the couple.
So, 1/3 of my marriages end in separation, but that's better odds than in real life.
