At What Point Do You Stop Playing a Save? UPDATE

I have come to discover a very painful reality. I play on Long, because I like having the time with my favorite Sims. I also have aging on for everyone. However, I may have created a mess by keeping Sims from moving into my save. At the very least, it's possible I should have had NS on, if only to allow for births. My first heads-up was when I sent the twins and their next younger brother to Prom. They were the ONLY students there. Just the three of them. I'm now wondering if I should simply add Sims to my save, via CAS, or just turn on NS to allow for births, which would take a longer time for the babies to become teens, which may make this notion moot.

Is it time to stop playing this save? Or do you perceive of a way I can salvage it? Please, and thank you, in advance.

  • Usually I only stop playing a save if the save is no longer working properly, for example the game is lagging, freezing or anything that makes the save unplayable for me. I always wish I could run long family legacy stories but nope, it is very difficult for me as I love managing lots of things like Sims households in the worlds and help with the Neighborhood story aspects by making certain scenarios more likely to happen, such as a married couple getting a new baby in the family, but sometimes I think I stop playing because there are so many Sims/horses/cats/dogs in the save and then I may create a new save and potentially upload some of my progressed Sims to the Gallery so I can re-use them in a new save and start it fresh, an entire alternate universe of new possibilities and storylines
  • Absolutely not a reason to stop playing a save. You have come so far.

Indeed make new families yourself in CAS or like @simgirl1010 said, download from gallery. :)
  • Yep. I did that when HSY released and it was so cool seeing them show up at school. I had the Brady Bunch, Married With Children, and a few others I can't remember.

ETA: There's also no NPC aging in my game so all the original townie teens are still teens. ?

I did create and add a teen girl with Jamison in mind, but even she wasn't at the Prom. :open_mouth: But, grabbing a few from the Gallery may be a great solution.
