Athletic Career gone. Bug orrrrr

Do you have HSY? I'm thinking it could be related to graduating high school, or similarly to DU you might need to be in an athletic activity to get "scouted" and be able to access that career.

Various careers are blocked with HSY now if you don't graduate.

"Teen" can't be an athlete or other careers. Just the side-jobs (Unless they changed it for HSY where a "teen" can now do "adult" jobs?

Thanks, but nope neither of these worked.

The Sims is a brand new YA Sim I made so High school wouldn't be a factor. I've checked and there is no other name. The athletic career is completely gone.

Now that is strange...

If you created that sim by story, there could always be a chance that they are already in the athletic career (though I doubt that, it may be one of the reasons why it isn't there).
Oh, and sims downloaded from the Gallery also keep their career and traits.

So, I have two suggestions: use cheats or repair the game. Through Origin, simply right-click on it and choose repair game.
Oh, and deleting cache files in the documents may also help.

They are blocked, but they will still show up in the career choice panel, just with a red exclamation mark and a message that due to you sim's missing high school degree they can't join it.

So, my guess is that somehow you can join one of the branches. If all else fails, enable testing cheats and enter this cheat:

careers.add_career athletic

I have a Sim currently in the Athlete career and I also am fully updated and have HSY installed.

You don't HSY to join the athlete career. You just need to be at least a YA.
