Attend University Part-time?

I am planning this too, well, kinda as I still would use the new world as regular hood.. will take a long time before I get the pack, so I have time to plan , LOL.
-I was thinking of changing both of the penthouse dorms to residential, using using premade students, to simulate sorority and frat house in those. As I do not know how superior Greek houses were at sims3, I only have sims2 to compare for, and in there those houses had only few meanings, toga parties (and I think TS4 has already covered the party part more than well) , and the annoying picking up pizza and cheap furniture from campus thing. (I say annoying, because it was great at first, but it really started to annoy when all 6 sorority sisters brought pizza back twice a day, even at middle of the night).
-Also changing the dorms in the Foxbury to regular residential lots what I would use like any residential lot in game. (needles to say I have had enough of dormlife, lol)
-Also maybe bulldozing the bar and the library and use those lots as regular residential too.
-Meaning it would be only staying at home uni or they move out to a starter home at some other worlds , or apartment. If not counted the two fake Greek lots (penthouses).

Lol, if I made any sence, hard to explain as english is not my native language :) (what can be seen from the amount of typoes I make)

You can! You can set any lot to the University Housing lot type, and it has requirements like any other lot. I'm a little lukewarm on the EP, but I was pleased to hear that they're not like the CL apartments

That’s good to hear! Disappointed about the lack of stoves and what not. I think they should remove that or hopefully a modder will fix it, because if I’m making a dorm house it needs a kitchen.

You can do one class per semester if that's what you choose to do. THat way, you'll need to have your SIm do 12 semesters (12 times 5 days) to be able to graduate.
Full-time jobs and Uni studies might be complicated though because your work and class times might clash. I'm sure it'd be doable with vacation days - I don't think you get skip days for classes but I might be wrong.

so 12x5 days - assuming they aren't having a scheduled day off work (which might happen in some cases) I'd need to have up (up to) 60 vacation days - that's probably the easiest way for them to do it and still keep their jobs.

That's doable - I wouldn't be getting the pack until it was significantly reduced (by like 50%) and some of my sims have 20 or so vacation days accumulated already.

Yup, I'm planning on doing this. Im planning on turning downtown Windenburg into a city-style campus with dorms/bar/library/etc. and I can pretend they are attending the University of Windenburg, satellite site of the other two. Hope I can build dorms out there too, that would be perfect!

Yeah, I think Windenberg is a good "partner" town. Especially as in the UK, where Britechester is based on, city centre, off campus student accommodation is more common in recent years.

I recall them saying you could add a dorm anywhere, you just have to assign a university.

@AquaGamer1212 there are three lot types - the dorm restricts stoves but university housing allows stoves. You can just change the lot type.

Hard to tell if there is a different symbol for the houses on campus. But the one house they showed in Foxbury they changed the lot type to residential.

That’s what I’ve been telling people that there isn’t a separate dorm lot type, they’re all just university housing. But the dorms are on shells, but no one believes me lol. I have a map pic with the lot sizes and each university has two shell dorm lots.

Me, right now, facepalming at myself because I mixed up two things above.

Two new lot traits (Study Spot and University Student Hang Out), three new lot TYPES: University Housing, Foxbury Commons, Britechester Commons.

But yes, as @AquaGamer1212 said, there is only one type of lot that can be used both for penthouse dorms and for a standalone house. Other than that it's just residential lots for living off-campus.

I think someone mentioned that you should take a nighttime part-time job to avoid any conflicts with classes, which implies that there won't be any nighttime classes

If this pack had been fleshed out more it could have included master's degrees, PhDs and short courses (ie evenings maybe).
That's probably what I would have done.
