August Patch Speculation Thread 2024 (Large Emergency Patch Out Now)

While I don't regret adding mods to my game, I fully understand having to wait for the mods to be updated, and/or play without them. Vanilla is not going to do it for me, however. Get Famous left out a singer career, so I must have a mod for that. Unfortunately, I had to pull a couple of small mods in order to get my game to play after the patch. My Child Sim can no longer play his guitar, as planned. Luckily, he's almost to skill level 9, so he won't have that much to go to master this instrument.😲

Oh maaan, I had no idea a patch was due and I just went to play my game and it is updating... nooooooo!!!!!!! After the last time, I really did not want to update. Where are the patch notes? Never mind, I found them: Update 8/8/2024

This was a small patch and didn't even disable mods. I do think some custom eyelashes may be doing strange things after this patch. I was pleased that my game seemed smoother and less jumpy. I wasn't experiencing any of the bad bugs however.

yeah last time i got caught like that, couldnt play for a week after... 😮

Next time you log to the EA app, hunt through the settings and disable auto updates, to both the EA app and the games you have. That will save a lot of heartache caused by the bad code.

As for this update, I have been waiting and hoping to see this one. I just hope it actually does what the notes say it will.

Small patch?  It must be downloading all the recent patches into my poor game.  EA app shows it is downloading 1.19 GIG to patch my game as I write this.   I need a Big, very Big cup of coffee.😟

There have been quite a few in the past few days!

I'd expect the August patch to be small, just bug fixes for Lovestruck (in addition to the ones they did today). The new road map should come after the Sims 4 sale ends August 19th. 

After the update yesterday my CAS crashes when trying to get into and the screens still take a long time to load. This is frustrating!

Well, the patch seemed to go well.

No major crashes or problems in about 4 hours game play.

All older mods or at least CC are still working. All major important mods like MCCC have been updated and are working fine.

I am getting something odd with the UI, the icons for phone and holidays seems to be mixed and combined somehow, but it still works so I can live with that.

Thanks to those who fixed the bugs, keep up the good work.

I updated, played the game for a while, slept the night soundly.

Woke to play again this morning. I now have the damnable Cas stuck on loading bug.

Added my two cents worth in the bug thread about it.

I think I'll go play with the trucks out on the highway for a while.😫
