Auto Save!!!

Can we pleaseeeeeeeee have auto save because my game is always crashing (Computers fault) and my game never saves and I NEVER remember to save it
  • I wouldn't personally like an auto save feature as we lose control over our game in a way, perhaps a quick save like CTR+S like we had in the original sims would be very helpful. I got into the habit when I started playing TS1 of saving regularly because of the odd crash I would have; I've kept up the habit and now and save last thing at night when the last sim has gone to bed, when sims start work or when sims achieve something like maxing a skill or fulfilling an aspiration. It's purely out of habit now.

Maybe they could make it optional?

Yes, that could be good a solution, let's us keep control that way.
  • they could introduce an optional quick save and auto save. i learned from D&D/RPG style games to save frequently and the sims is no exception :)

Yes, they could do like in many games an auto save and a manual save. SO you can go back to whenever you saved manually or just to the most recently auto saved.
  • There was an autosave feature before, it was removed in a patch for some reason.
  • It was removed because it often overwrote our own saves we specifically saved for some unknown reason - last I heard. It was more trouble than it was worth as it also didn't let us roll back to the last good save - so now we can do that. Auto save and Sims has never been a good combo - it works much better in role playing games than it does in a simulation kind of game because of so many variables where content has no limit.

  • Optional only for this simmer. I don't want the game to chose when to save for me.

We had auto save and they said it was causing problems so they removed it over a year ago.
