Autonomous break up?!

Did this happen while you played them or while you played a different household? I recall there were a few surprise twists back when we got UNI and room mates could stir up the stories a little, but I think that was more often like starting a romance rather than ending it.

It happened while I playing my sim, her bf was her roommate, she came to him (it glitched abit) out of no reason and started to argue with him then I saw the notification that she just broke up with him!

First time I thought only NPCs can do it to you but now my controlled played autonomously did it I was shocked as they were deeply in love and she constantly had wants to get engaged to him and i had to double check i dont have any mod..

Yikes! I hope that doesn’t happen in my game! I’m sorry it happened in yours if you didn’t want it to happen.

That's what happens when they try to add in elements of story progression and autonomous behaviour that people want so badly like sims 3 ?

Thats what happens when the autonomy on sims is completely broken and they avoid fixing it. For many many months already. Welcome to The Sims 4.

I have had something sort of similar happened before, that was the first and last time I tried the roommate system. Never happened after that.

I had a couple who's relationship was all the way up, they'd been married for awhile, had one child and my sim was pregnant, but they autonomously got a divorce when the spouse "discovered" my Sim was an alien. It made me really upset and I haven't played aliens since.
I don't like alien discovery and I don't like that they can autonomously divorce or break up. That should be a player option only.

I've had this happen before. It happens to non player controlled Sims fairly often too.

I actually had a sim randomly break up with my sim the other day and that was the first time it had happened to me. I have two playables in different households that started dating. They both were already 'boyfriend and girlfriend' with other non playable sims. I was playing male sim and a pop up notification came up informed me that his non playable girlfriend had broken up with him and she was really angry and hurt. Is it possible that she heard a rumour that he was dating someone else? It was fine, as I had planned to have him break up with her anyways, but I had never had that happen before.

I noticed that sims can do this when they're in certain moods.

My sim and her boyfriend had gotten into a argument months back, since the mean trait really worked against him and she just broke up with him without any direction to me. Had the same thing happen with another sim going on a date with Erwin (first date at that) they got pretty flirty and he decided to autonomously propose to her. :D

Yeah, I'm thinking this is a roommate feature, not a sentiments feature. The only times I hear about this happening is with roommates. I'll be so happy if they've integrated it into the game, though. This game is sorely missing the element of surprise that the other games had.

Save often, and reload without saving if you don't like the results.
