Autonomy players?

My sims just about drove me freakin crazy with full autonomy. There were plenty of scenes I enjoyed watching and I do miss those, but they were greatly outweighed by bone headed actions, like mopping while the broken sink is still spewing AND in the public park where it's really someone else's job. After disabling their autonomy as much as I can it's been a lot more micro managing but a lot less eye twitching.

Lately as I've been getting more bored I've dropped them off at a nightclub or similar place and given them full autonomy and just watched. In the past when I tried this they'd manage to piss off at least one sim, but to my surprise I haven't seen this lately.
