Baby sim stuck! Help!

I noticed in my game today that a member of my sim’s extended family had a baby that I missed seeing the announcement about. After the child aged up to infant, my sim went around to the apartment to visit and see who the father was but the infant was still in the bassinet, still looking like a baby. My sim could interact with it as if it was a newborn but it was still tied to the bassinet. I aged the baby to a toddler but it still remained looking the same and wouldn’t leave the bassinet. When I tried to reset it using testing cheats (since no MCCC menu was showing up when clicking on it), it said “sim not found”. Anyone know what might be going on? The infant looks normal in CAS but definitely not in person.
