Back to the good old days

I'm looking for a list of things that are fineable by this N.A.P.

The tooltip says rocket ships, juice, woohoo and "technology", but what counts as technology? My sims were busy canning at the stove that came with Cottage Living, and kept getting fined (twice 25 simoleons per canning cycle), so apparently that is too cutting edge tech already.

  • I wish I had an answer for you. I am just posting this because nothing is more aggravating than to post a thread and read that so many reads, but 0 responses. I know this doesn't help you much, but I refuse to be one of those, you know? I'm also hoping that others who are interested in the topic will stop by and post information they may have. I don't have Eco Living, else I might know. :open_mouth:

Who are 'those' types? This forum is composed of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable simmers who respond when they have an answer or solution..

ETA: I'd rather get no response than to get a notification that someone has responded to my inquiry only to say sorry, I don't have an answer.

@EnkiSchmidt forgive me for derailing your thread.
  • @simgirl1010 @GalactgicGal you're both not wrong, just coming from different points of view <3

People probably expected this to be a discussion thread, not a question. "What exactly do sims get fined for by the Back to the good old days NAP" seemed a bit too long for a headline, lol.

For now I repealed the N.A.P. I used the legal way, no cheats, because that was on me, not the game. I played with this N.A.P. before, using it as a luxury tax for alcohol and TV as well as contraceptions in very young BACC settlements, therefore I SHOULD have known stoves get fined. But my previous settlers seemed to have had it way too easy, if in all those households they never before noticed that their stoves were getting fined, too. I'm too nice to them.
  • You're exactly right @EnkiSchmidt. When I clicked I thought it was a discussion thread. ? I do have Eco Living but haven't played with NAPs enabled.
  • Enki, did you try with a stove that can be used off the grid? Don't we have a wood burning stove, the old-fashioned looking one?
  • @kathykins I tried your suggestion and bought a wood-burning stove, unfortunately the sims got fined just like they did with the iron stove. Taking the lot off grid didn't make a difference either.

That said, I still like the idea of taxing TV, computer, woohoo and juice, and will vote the NAP back in soon as my household isn't so reliant on the income from their canning anymore.
