I am using just a simple startup command right now to disable lovestruck and it works well lovestruck is disabled in my game because after some testing I noticed that my save ran much better with that pack disabled. I could try this new pack disabling feature but it looks like it's not working well based on what I am seeing here and on other social media. People also seem to be having trouble loading their saves.
more skin details are welcome, I like the look of the freckles, the rosacea looks too light though.
I will probably play the game offline for a while now, the game is actually running very well now after I removed all my old custom content and after changing the graphicsrules.sgr file so it uses very little level of detail settings.
I agreed that disabled Lovestruck would be a good choice. I would ike to do as well, but there are too many CAS and B&B that I use as I lean on this kind of culture theme.
My reason for wanting to disable is... the save game will be uncontrolable because of the many unbalanced romantic satisfaction systems. Without mods, all premade couple sims will be very unsatisfied with romantic satisfaction. And there are autonomous romantic introductions and interactions that make many people become cheaters regardless of their romantic preference (it's a bug that was reported)
As this EP did many things in the background, it would be the reason why the game runs better if it's disabled (regarded to your experience).

Also, using the startup command code in the EP app would be the better choice for now. But I'm unsure if the startup command will be obsolete or cause a conflict in the game or not. That's the reason I would rather wait longer before updating.

Yeah, my theory as to why my game runs better with lovestruck disabled is about the turn-on and turn-off feature from lovestruck. The pack assigns 50 of them to every sim in the game. I have a large and old save with 1800 sims (you can find out how many you have with MC Command Center) that's 90,000 turn-on and turn-offs for a save like mine.
I'm not sure how this new pack disabling feature works, reading the description it almost sounds like the client uninstalls the packs. The startup commands that I'm using just tells the game to not load the folder (EP16). And to make extra sure that I was not messing anything up I used a save from before lovestruck was bought.

logionX Oh, adding turn-on/turn-off to NPC is another issue that made me have to use a mod to stop it.
By the way, if you said that your game runs better while you have that amount, it's still okay to have over 1,800 sims, right? Do you have some lags compared to your other saves that have lower population? If your save file is alright, I will be relieved about adding the NPC townies.
I had around 700, and then the game started to secretly cull my sims from 'other households' and 'hidden households'. Fortunately, MCCC has the feature to stop culling completely. But I feared adding new Sims to this save.

I used the same method and will keep using this. The new feature is suspicious and dangerous after watching some YouTubers' experiences. I hope that they don't remove the startup commands and force us to use only the new method.

I have very little lag in my game now. It looks like you can have a lot of sims in the game and it seems to run just fine but I need to use MC Command Center as you mentioned otherwise the game will start to cull them. It's also a good idea to use MC Command Center to clean up relationships.
It's also worth mentioning, one thing that helped my save was getting rid of a lot of custom content, turns out that adds a lot to your loading times.

My random sims are generated with at most a few preferences each, some none. Maybe a mod fixes or caps that? Maybe this mod? https://zerbu.tumblr.com/post/756892231287422976/the-sims-4-mod-the-custom-preferences-mod
Yes, I have Lovestruck and the above does include turn ons/offs. My other thought is that your game has a bug handing out all those TOs?
