Ok this is annoying.  I went to open the game for a quick play session.  It took a while as I could see a progress bar from Origin.  Then when I was able to open the app, it said the game had been updated, which was confirmed when I actually opened the game and mods had been disabled.  I could have sworn I turned off auto-update yesterday.  I guess I didn't do that (or my PC has a mind of its own!)  Now I can't do what I wanted because of the risk of breaking saves I care about.  I guess I'll look at the new skin customisation options though.
