rujuta4me I started doing game repairs after I had a patch once that went wonky and it fixed it. So now I feel it's a necessary step to avoiding "false" bugs.
So if you ever load into your game after a patch and something seems off, do a game repair. The Sims is, and has always been, a very complicated game with a LOT of moving parts, moreso than other games because you can change or manipulate almost everything. So glitches and bugs are to be expected, but doing game repairs after any changes like patches and adding packs, can at least help ensure that the foundation files are as they should be.
But I'd recommend always removing your mods folder completely and deleting the localthumbcache file before doing any updates or downloading add-ons or doing repairs so that the game files can install more "cleanly". Then put them back in, but make sure all mods and CC are all updated first or they can create issues and game errors.
And of course, regularly back up your saves in case something unexpected happens. 😊
I have been doing that for a long time already. 😁 As fast as the downloads go, a repair after an update kind of just verifies that I have the same stuff they have programmed or reprogrammed for each pack separately. I always do backups! I don't do cc or mod's which really saves me lots of grief and time. 🤩 I am thrilled with my game(s) without cc or mod's. 🤩 I have only seen maybe 5 or 6 bugs in my game over the years. Edit: at least in the last 7 years
