Personally, I am happy for the playground. I don’t think more lot types is ever a bad thing. This way, I don’t have to have chess tables and I’ll get less adult Sims. Sometimes I’ll visit parks and there’s barely any children. So to me, this is a useful lot type.
This reminds me of when people hated the rec center personally love it
Yes, often there are more child sims in my shop lots than at the park. I think it's nice they have a lot dedicated to them. 😃
