Batuu - Share Your Sims, Builds, or Stories!

Here's my tentative list of what neighborhoods I'll be treating as what planets when I make a Star Wars save:

Willow Creek -> Gatalenta. This is a core world, home to Amilyn Holdo. We don't know much about it.
Oasis Springs -> Tatooine.
Newcrest -> Ord Mantell. We know virtually nothing about this world, but it's a recognizable name.
Magnolia Promenade -> Cantonica. This was the planet the casino at Canto Bight was located on in TLJ. Putting in a fancy restaurant, upscale retail, a nightclub, and maybe a spa seems about right.
Windenberg -> Naboo. I considered making Willow Creek into Naboo, but the old ruins and watery map made me decide on Naboo. I might risk messing things up to turn the Von Haunt Estate into the Palace of Theed.
San Myshuno -> Coruscant.
Forgotten Hollow -> Dathomir.
Brindleton Bay -> Dantooine. Another world that we've heard of but not seen.
Del Sol Valley -> Nevarro. This is the world where Mando gets his jobs on The Mandalorian.
Strangerville -> Korriban/Moraband. The rocky desert homeworld of the Sith until The Rise of Skywalker changed that, and I try to ignore The Rise of Skywalker as much as possible.
Sulani -> Numidian Prime. This is a jungle world where Han Solo finds Lando in Solo.
Glimmerbrook -> Lothal. The portal to the Realm of Magic and the floating islands inside make me think of the World Between Worlds, so I'm putting that here. Might need to remodel the Realm of Magic via cheats and hopefully not break stuff.
Britechester -> Chandrila. Another core world, and another one we know very little about. The birthplace of Mon Mothma. It was the first center of the New Republic government.

I think Brindleton Bay could make a pretty good Dantooine. It's fairly open grassland with some cliffs and things, except for where the Jedi Temple is. I always got lost there though, and had a devil of a time trying to find the ruins where Juhani was camped out for a while.

Hmm...

Trying to remember Ord Mantell from SWTOR. Yeah, water, green grass. Been there so many times since I love trooper, and Jennifer Hale as a voice artist.

Personally I might just go for Brindleton Bay for Ord Mantel but that is just because I am so used to it having some sand and coastline for my character to run in and trooper was a favorite :)

Hope that we get a new plant that looks different, that is a nice way of making a lot feel different from the usual world.

I'm thinking Selvadorada could be recast as either Yavin IV or the moon from the KOTOR games where you meet the Mandalorians and find the Sith tomb. I'm blanking on the names at the moment. Since there's not a lot on Dagobah other than the cave and Yoda's hut, I was thinking I'd get a sim into the Forgotten Grotto and then use freebuild to put Yoda's hut in there.

As far as pictures and when I'm done, I have no idea if I'll manage that. I'm not a very good builder (I'm getting better from watching a ton of lilsimsie and James Turner videos, but have a long way to go), so my reach here might far exceed my grasp. I need a lot more practice in figuring out how to creatively use the architectural elements and learning what all is available to use in the decorations and in debug.

Duxn Moon. And the tomb of Freedon Nadd. And it was our old friend Candorous Ordo, wasn’t it? Mand’alor the Preserver who was a bit of a respite from Mandalore the Ultimate. (Man, makes me want to break out my Tales of the Jedi graphic novels again and say hello to my old friends, Exar Kun, Ulic Qel-Droma and Nomi Sunrider. Or else pull out the Knights of the Old Republic and feel sorry for Zayne again)

My next confusing point, is how are Jedi/Force users gonna work. Rey's NPC is shown using some kind of Force Power as an interaction, yet not comment on it being a life state. The closest thing they've said is that Practicing your lightsaber skills also increases your Fitness skill. So is the Force maybe tied to a specific Skill line? I wouldn't mind that. Especially due to the ability to then make a Spellcaster Force User, that is essentially a Night Sister.

My suspicion, and I admit I am trying to manage expectations, is that Rey and Kylo Ren using the Force are scripted events and there's no Force use for player-controlled Sims. (Canonically, lightsabers can be wielded by non-Jedi, including Finn, Han Solo, who used one only to cut open a Taun-Taun, but still, and General Grievous.) Until the modding community gets their hands on it.

Out of the eight game packs we have not including Journey to Batuu, four were just mundane stuff. Two offered quests and guided play (Jungle Adventures, Strangerville) but not new life states. Two offered new life states but not quests or guided play (Realm of Magic, Vampires). So I'd be surprised if JTB offered both.

But since the pack icon was leaked, I've seen a lot of people engaging in some absolutely wild speculation about what would be in this pack: multiple new worlds, living on a spaceship, a revamp of aliens (which would mean requiring Get To Work, so it'd be DLC for DLC), being able to kill or maim other sims with lightsabers, being able to kill other sims in gunfights, multiple new types of alien, etc. (When they weren't convincing themselves that this couldn't possibly be Star Wars and therefore had to be the pack that they wanted: farming, winter vacation, ghosts, whatever.) And I worry that people are still building the pack into something it's not, thinking they'll be able to train as Jedi and get Force powers, or have Kylo Ren and Rey get married.

I wouldn't go in expecting anything that's not mentioned specifically in the ad copy, and then maybe to be slightly disappointed in that.

If they are thoughtless enough to make a Star Wars pack without the Force, then they deserve all the complaining. I mean, we already have something that would work with the aliens that are already in the game. Just take that programming and make it a tiered power structure that Jedi must earn.

@Dannydanbo I'm not expecting a new occult life state att all. If it had been an expansion yes but right now no. They have always been very very upfront about new lifestates so I do not believe that this is it. The word jedi does not even come up once in the intro-blog. This is about traveling to an alien trading post and seeing what life is like there. Personally I like that this looks a bit more "dangerous", I need that for Sims 4.

However, if it had been a new lifestate, should lightsabers be exclusive to them? With a max wellness skill you can have a teleporting nice force user or a evil vampire who moves with the mist. Personally I look forward to being able to spar with my vampires because they have been relaxing too long.

I have an approach to how I will use this pack.
I will be treating Batuu as a entertainment vacation destination.

This will be more content for my teen sims who love sci-fi and cosplay.

OMG!!! I LOVE the Idea of a cosplay cafe!!! I am SOOOOO stealing that! 3 floors, the basement is a futuristic cosmic bowling alley, the second is a SW cantina/bar, the third maybe a horror dance club? IDK, but its gonna be aweSIM!!

It's seemed a small thing when I first started.
It was a nice social hobby for my teens. It's also a hangout for child sims. They form void critter clubs. There are void critter machines there and they hang out and play the game. When I play a child sim, I usually have them ask teens to see their party outfits. I use that clothing category for their Cosplay outfits. I wish EA would give us a costume category for outfits.

But now with Get Famous, cosplaying has become a segue to the acting career for some of my sims.

Another thing I have going for my Teen sims is a prep-school for University.

I played two sims through University to be the counselor and administrator. I will have up to six teens here.

Can you imagine the outrage if they announced an EP, rather than a GP, based on Star Wars? Adding a bunch of new gameplay features, instead of just a diversion for players who want a little something different, and it was all based around the Force? Or, worse, it added things that people have been saying they wanted, like a revamp of aliens or the ability to have sims with missing limbs, but it was tied to Star Wars?
