Is there actually a big difference between the beds with energy 8 and energy 10? My sims were only able to afford the one from Vintage Glamor pack with energy 8. I’m curious if there’s actually a noticeable difference from a bed with energy 8 vs energy 10

I haven't actually measured the time, but yes, I think there is a difference. When I've managed to afford 10 energy beds, the sleep cycle seems to go so, so fast. A couple sim hours will have them rested enough to get back to dong stuff. But, that being said, 8 is still really good, so I wouldn't stress it if that's what's affordable for your sims right now :)

There's definitely a difference, though I tend to stick with the 8 beds because the 10's have my sims sleep too fast for my liking.

It's not a huge difference, I think - I'll use any bed for my teens and adults that has an 8 or better. However, all my Sims get the 'seldom weary' trait as soon as they have enough points (usually when the kids complete three of the four aspirations). I put all my teens and adults to bed at 1:45 and whether they have an 8 or a 10 bed, they are ready to get up at 5:00. (I like to have them sleep a bit - I don't like the 'never weary' trait - but I'd rather have them awake and doing things. Watching them sleep is rather boring.)Something I miss from Sims 3 - the dreams kids and teens could have at night. I'd love to see that come back.

It seems to be a pretty big difference between the lowest end and the beds with 10 energy, like a savings of a few hours less sleep per day. I tend to send my sims to bed by midnight and have them wake up around 6 am regardless of actual need (and use a mod so they don't wake up even if energy is full), so for me any bed higher than around 4 is good enough.I've never actually timed it or anything, but my recollection is that a bed with energy of 4 results in sims that need around 8 hours of sleep in a sim day, while a bed with 10 it is somewhere between 3 and 4.

There is surely a difference. They sleep faster with a 10 bed. I never measured the difference to see just how fast though!

I really wish they'd quit adding bad beds in every pack. We've got loads of beds, and only a few I can use. I don't like to use mods (just because I don't have the time to mess around with updating them - I do appreciate the modding community), and I just weep to see that the perfect bed for my decor has a 4 sleep rating.

@invisiblgirl I totally feel your pain there. Plus, with the packs I have at the moment, my best beds are the Vampires bed, the Princess Bed, and the one with the bed posts and the large knitted looking bedding. I like them in some households, but in general, it annoys me that I can't match my décor and have my Sims sleep well unless I'm making gothic themed rooms or something.
