- It's so much better for me!! I was actually surprised to notice such a major difference.
I created a BU and installed the update, I even dumped all my (updated) mods back into my mods folder after I learned that this patch was pretty safe, not really introducing any significant issues. Twas worth the risk.
I run the game on Ryzen 7 supported by a beefy GPU, so I've had zero problems with DX11 so far. I also play on Ultra and the loading times are considerably shorter, graphics are sharper with a huge improvement in framerate. Hooray.
I'm quite satisfied with how the game runs for me right now and I'm looking forward to future improvements in performance!

My game has been running pretty well, of late. I have a new gaming laptop (lots of RAM) and I delete certain files before I play each gaming session. I'm pleased as punch, given my experience with my former gaming rig that died, and left me to play on a regular laptop, which also crashed and burned. Thankfully, the patch hasn't hurt my game, as in the past.

My script mods are happy, that's all I care about. 🙂

My game is running the same as it always did. About 6 months ago I noticed a much longer start up time, that hasn't changed. Lag has not been an issue. I did notice after a recent party I had several guest sims who refused to leave. I can't interact with them. They are just sort of standing there. One guys in his underwear which is a little strange. It was a costume party.

It's worse.
At first my game wouldn't default to the DX11 version. My game recognised my Nvidia grafics card (mentioned in config.log) but still default DX9. After searching on the forums I found a fix by changing the global settings of my grafics card. So finally DX11, only to find out that I am not able to use alt+tab in the DX11 version. That feels rather crippling. I need to be able to switch to my browser every now and then. On top of that the times to load the game haven't improved. I don't play on ultra, so the grafics aren't my priority.
So back to DX9.

So far, I haven’t experienced any lag. And it seems to be loading faster, but it has only been a few days, and I haven’t experienced blizzards since the DX 11 update. I’ve been heading my influencer sim over to Copperdale to make clothes at thrift tea though, but no behind the counter NPC to serve food or bubble tea, I’m not sure why……
I feel like I should add that I don’t use CC or mods, but, I definitely haven’t experienced any lag since the update. - columbia939 months agoNew Ace
A lot of trouble and it seems like my game is now laggy. I have a ton of CC and have had to put everything through the Sims 4 Studio, and the whole process is putting a bunch of files on my PC and I'm running out of space while I work through it. I've gone into the game several times with the files I've just batch fixed and it seems laggy, with Sims not moving smoothly. I also had all of my CC merged based on type and I'm not sure I can trust the batch fix with such large packages...so I've been BFing by backup packages and then having to repackage. I'll keep going but right now, not so happy.

3. It’s worse.
From this last update I am getting serious, horrible, simulation lag. Loading times seemed to have increased a bit a couple or so updates before, and I used to have some lag during build mode, but gameplay generally was smooth and without issues. But this update made the game almost unplayable. One of my sims eventually glitched, with tasks queued but not clearing, my sim was stuck in T-pose after I tried to reset her, but the needs appeared like they were fulfilling. Trying to reset the sim didn't work, so bad was the simulation lag. In the end both of my sims in the hoousehold glitched and reset didn't work on either of them and I had to save and exit game to clear it and get my sims to function properly again. Also, the game now pauses after you select to cook a recipe from the fridge which I find very annoying.
2. It’s the same as before.
But I do still play DX9 if it counts, because I want to minimize game time to time. I always had lil lag, it did not get better, but not any worse either.
