Interesting *adjust monocle *
What if I was adventurous elder, exploring underwater with my submarine, living on the roads in my customizable travel van in extreme dystopian whimsical cyberpunk environment where civilization has collapsed
what if only things keeping me alive were my master survival adaptation skills and mechanical and techy talents
what if once upon a time I built simple shelter because I had yet to find my trusty van on roadside someplace and fix it up
what if I had new creatures, exotic pet companions, part alien or something like that I suppose considering the state of world.
what if due to the political landscape I simply had to become notorious criminal doing high-stakes bank heists and shady back alley deals as a job to afford feeding them, even considered becoming mafia boss
what if once upon a time I babysit bunch of children discovering new hobbies in 80s/90s retro world ,
hang out at the arcade, comic book store, gameboard café, and ramen shop. Enjoyed classic activities like tabletop role-playing games, landline phones, and rollerblading. sometimes delivered newspapers, or worked as lifeguard at the community pool. Had a blast on the water slide and drank from the hose with no worry in world
and now I am just reminiscing, in my beat up little van, reliving this vintage era I miss through all my old timey objects, recalling the stories and drama of the past
obviously wearing some real bling luxury fashion I stole?
What on earth do I choose then?!?!
Also I forgot to mention but ofcourse, I'm also half robot due to that one terrible misadventure I had that shall not be discussed and my terribly old age that also shall not be discussed...

SimmingalWait, this isn't realistic at all. If everything collapsed you wouldn't have anyone to steal from. 💎💍
Okay its top secret but Nancy Landgraabs toilet paper bunker is still standing you did not hear this from me 🕶

So many of these ideas are so expansive and ambitious. But like, EPs are still way behind Sims 3 in terms of quality and quantity, and they're arguably getting more and more shallow as time goes on. As much as I'd love a cyberpunk theme (Oasis Springs is a cyberpunk world in my game), ocean exploration, and superheroes/mafia, I'm skeptical as to whether they can pull them off. Superheroes are a MAJOR want of mine, but there's no way fights will be more than regular dust clouds, reskins of spellcaster fights, and a bunch of recycled effects. There's no way missions won't be just you watching some good/bad sim go through some very basic animations in the corner by themselves, and you just fight/help them for a few minutes.
EDIT: I will say that I'm glad more out-there, active and less "regular daily life" stuff is being considered here, though. So many packs are geared towards basic life, but I love new experiences and being able to go different types of things for my sims to do.
Noting the van life pack idea, though. For this to be a thing, wouldn't cars need to be a thing? Makes me wonder if cars are already in the works, and they're prepping for a possible road travel pack to help push the idea.
- SimmervilleSeasoned Ace
Or - cars will never be a thing, but they thought of giving us customizable vans instead, to please the car hungry simmers. I actually like the idea. Cars just for driving and parking makes no sense in a game with no lengthy roads. Living in the car is a more interesting take on it methinks.

I would like both. I miss cars from the sims 2. And if they do come out with cars, hope we can listen to the radio in them and they give a positive buff. We can teach our teenagers how to drive, we can work on and fix them up. And of course woo hoo or mess around ( teenagers ). In them. It would be nice if we could drive them out of a garage, or store them in our inventory. With get to work we could own a car dealership, a garage, and fast food store, and car wash lot would be nice. I too like the van idea, but I don’t think I would like it limited to one world because our worlds are so small.

Seriously, I wish they would develop all of the EPs on the ideas list. The adventure based packs will always be the most appealing to me. Anything to expand Jungle Adventures!
I did the survey last night and picked Ocean World - I’ve been wanting houseboats and underwater worlds / lots (and sea monsters!!!) since forever in my game, I can’t wait to be able to build a pirate ship and have my sims actually sail into a pixel sunset or chase merfolk UNDERWATER or get tangled up in the seaweed or the loving arms of The Kraken.
I also picked the post apocalyptic survivalist EP for the adventure, survivalist career, makeshift shelters, exotic creatures and the entire “nature took over” concept in general. Love it.
I might do the survey again on another device and pick a couple of the other ideas that I really liked, such as the adventurous exploration, fossil hunting, cyberpunk city, time travel ( was there time travel?🤔) and something about building robots on another planet. Oh, and heists, and also van life, OFCOURSE I want to drive around in a van. Exactly, all of them please. Make. Now. - AnmirlaSeasoned Vanguard
I'm particularly interested in traveling by van and the civilization collapsing ones.
If I had both, I could send my Sims to "live in a van down by the river" when the SHTF. 😄

I’m so happy to took the survey, I usually miss them. But I can’t tell you how much I would love for the van life and children’s activity packs to become a reality! I’m having to curb my excitement lol because I know they’re just ideas, but they’re the exact kind of content I personally enjoy. The cross-potential pack integration opportunities would be fantastic also! Ocean/dystopian/monarchy I wouldn’t personally enjoy, but I know loads of simmers would love those kinds of themes in a DLC, so I’m happy that there were a variety of options there to please storytellers.

I just took the survey and spent quite a while on it! I had to make up answers about whether mods/cc offer the same possibilities as I haven't a clue! And judging by everyone else's comments here, it looks like we all prefer different ideas - so I guess they'll just have to make them all . . .
- SheriSimSeasoned Hotshot
I was thinking that too!

Most of these suggested themes sound interesting & I like elements from each one. In the order of my interest, I would rank them:
- Gritty City
- Post-Apocalyptic Survivor
- Coastal Town & Ocean World
- Adventurous Exploration (although the elements from this one seem like they could also fit well with the Ocean World or Post-Apocalyptic themes)
- Modern Monarchy
- Sleepaway Camp
- Retro World & Malls
- Cyberpunk
- Van Life
- Karamazov123Seasoned Hotshot
Oh, ranks sound fun. I'd go with
- Cyberpunk
- Gritty City (If it's a superhero pack - 8 place if it isn't)
- Exploration
- Ocean World
- Post-Apocalyptic
- Monarchy (The MODERN aspect kills a lot of the hype)
- Retro Mall
- Van Life (I want cars, but van life is lame)
- Camp (It should be a game pack at most)
1-4 are things I'd actively be hyped about.
- RememberJoySeasoned Novice
I liked most of them too.
- Sleepaway Camp
- Ocean World
- Gritty City - Would love a Superhero/villain theme for this one
- Post-Apocalyptic Survivor
- Modern Monarchy
- Cyberpunk
- 80/90s Retro World
- Adventurous Exploration (I agree that this one could easily fit into the Ocean World)
- Van Life
The first six choices I put down as very interested and the last three are in the somewhat interested category.
- logionXSeasoned Hotshot
I would go with:
- Cyberpunk (Great setting to play with poor and rich sims and their lifestyles and how they live)
- Ocean World (If they add underwater worlds I think this could work great)
- Post Apocalyptic World (Could work really well, they could make it like a survival game)
- Van Life (Travel around lots with a van could offer some expansive gameplay, but we still have no cars?)
- Exploration coastal world (Could work, if they do it well)
- Crime fighting (Could maybe work? But I'm not sure.)
- 80's-90's world (Doesn't sound very fun when you read their ideas for the pack, play table games, use landline phones)
- Modern Monarchy (I don't think this will work in The Sims 4, their ideas sound like things people are already doing)
- Sleepaway camps (sounds like a game pack)
- alanmichael1Seasoned Hotshot
Excited about houseboats!!!
- logionXSeasoned Hotshot
These are some very cool ideas. And I do like that when you have picked your favorites you can provide 2 of them with your own ideas.
I picked the cyberpunk world and the oceanic/exploration world (and I was also interested in the apocalyptic world and the camper van pack idea). I think these themes could work well in the sims.
But I do agree as some people have mentioned where I wonder how well these themes will work in The Sims 4? I mean the oceanic/exploration world needs to have actual underwater areas, if it will just be rabbit holes like we had in Sulani then I will be much less interested.
I guess they could make a camper van travel pack by having the actual van be an object that you drag around. But at that point we really should just add cars to the game.
