Ultra is the best. I first played sims 4 on old laptop with 660 card and had it on high, which was nice but difference is noticeable (no details, shadows).
Oh don't tell me ? i have been playing till now in a nvidia mx130... but it did hold ultra until eco lifestyle... after that expansion i had to downgrade to medium otherwise i got impossible lag...- I'm running with an nVidia GTX1080 and I'm able to play on Ultra in 4K too. If you're just playing The Sims then the 2060 might be overkill but in terms of pricing you'd be better going for something like the new 3060 which is due out at the end of the month. It is newer and actually a little cheaper than the 2060. They're really not that much different but at least the 3060 is newer. You can find out more information on them both here...

Buy the better graphics card if you want to play other games. A good CPU is necessary if Maxis will add more autonomy in future DLC, the CPU will deal with simulation lag.
It's too early to predict what graphics card the sims 5 will need. The best way you can prepare is to buy a graphics card that will still support the latest drivers after maybe two or three years from now. "telmarina;c-17810121" wrote:

In my case game started lagging before Island Living. In task manager the game was taking almost all of memory (8GB). Even if I wanted to pause game and go browse, browser loaded slowly as game already clogged so much memory. Sims were standing (lagged) even with actions queued. That's why I think 16GB is necessary for lots of dlc."lostatcore;c-17810135" wrote:

I agree. 1650 is pretty fine just for sims 4.- Chicklet453684 years agoRising TravelerI have 16gb of memory and also have the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 TI ... I play on ultra without lag, every pack (except Batuu), a ton of CC sometimes (Like 20GB-30GB) and about 150 mods, it runs beautifully.
I don't play many other games so I can't tell you if that would be enough for a graphically intensive game. "Chicklet453681;c-17810225" wrote:

Oh i only play sims 4... thank you for your imput. I'm decided on the nvidia geforce 1650 ti :)- SimplyJen4 years agoRising SpectatorIf you're purchasing a desktop, you can always upgrade the video card in the future for Sims 5... but looks like you're shopping for a laptop.

A nvidia geforce gtx 1650 ti would be cool to play in ultra?
Or should i go for a RTX 2060?
If you only plan to play sims 4 and no more beyond, that graphics card is waaaaaay more than enough to play on ultra. And still it will serve well, even for some newer games. You should NEVER EVER go for an RTX. They are overpriced cards to scam the newest brainless gaming generation and you actually dont need em to play on ultra IN ANY GAME. Unless you plan to use 4k monitor screens.- @SimplyJen yes, i will buy a laptop. Need it really fast for my work so i'll be ordering it tomorrow.
@Tantalus i'm decided for the gtx. I wouldn't call people brainless thought. The fact that i don't know more about pcs maybe means i know a lot more about other areas of knowledge...? ?♀️ - I have the geforce nvidia and I love it! Sims looks clearer than its ever looked and if you play other games (gta, watchdogs, etc) it looks like real life. Its insane
