Birthday Party!

Ok, never had this question before as normally I play rotationally with only active household aging (this is on hold till relationship decay is sorted).

Started playing a single family (a sim me and having loads o fun)

got invited by Travis Scott to his birthday party so I put on my best evil Darth Vader suit and made myself a promise not to use my freeze ray at my bff's shindig.

Turned up and, well only Travis was there, no music on or TV, no mixologist although a caterer did turn up eventually to make him a cake. The whole evening was just me, Travis and endless plates of food.

When I left Travis said he had a great time and enjoyed the attention..yeah ok matey, whatever.

Was then invited to Mikke Hass birthday, so once again, Darth Vader suit and charged up my freeze ray for entertainment (not that friendly with Mikke) only to be disappointed by same caterer, one guest Ulrikke Faust and no host!

Ok I thought, have I just been invited to a fake party? Has someone dared to out mischief me?

I left early to seek frosty revenge and got the pop up from Mikke to say "hmm that could have gone better"

Try showing up next time!

Does anyone else have issues with party invites?
  • Next time I'm invited to a duff party, im going to transform everything in the house >:)
  • That sounds like the saddest party ever, I kinda feel sorry for Travis. You should throw a party in his honor with the works. XD

I got invited to Travis' birthday while he was at work. He arrived just after the party finished.

If you have a free club spot (or are already in a club with them) you can add them to one and call a gathering to pull them out of work.
  • Strangely, every time I play a different Sims 4 save, Travis and me always end up getting together. Sadly, my house at present is full of evil clones which i use to cause mayhem and mischief round town, dont think theres much room for poor Travis at my home in this game.
  • I'm sorry for bumping such an old thread, but this was my only relevant search result on the matter. I have the same problem with any birthday party I get invited in. I bring as many other sims that I can (since there are never any other guests), I talked the birthday boy's head off, congratulated him, baked a cake, put on candles and chose "celebrate", I did everything I could to give him attention, but noooooo. This is only one of several examples, I always get the "that could've gone better" treatment. I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm missing something, but from now on I always reject birthday party invites. Waste of time. And the cake cost money to bake. :P

It's the same thing with dates; if someone asks you on the date, expect the date to bomb bc you don't know if you've really pleased your date enough. Hence why I always reject date invites and schedule my own dates instead.
