- JanuaryGarnet08New SpectatorThere’s a toggle in Game Options under packs, you have to collapse the Get Famous and Eco Lifestyle boxes to see the one fo Bust The Dust, remove the check mark and that should disable it. Or you can remove the pack entirely following the tutorial below and use the command line argument I provided.
https://youtu.be/9K3mMf-HtIs
You need Command Line Argument: -disablepacks:SP22
Also, they’re supposed to be tuning it in tomorrow’s patch to make the dust occur more slowly and some other fixes if you’re interested in waiting & seeing if that helps before disabling it entirely. - thank you! i have avoiding playing because of it. i was hoping the maid would clean it but it just doesnt go away! thanks again for the quick response!
- elliebretonSeasoned Ace@GalacticGal the dust shows up after about 8 sim hours unless you choose the option to disable it in the game pack settings.

Thank you. I think I'll go ahead and make that purchase and if needed, I'll disable the game pack setting if it gets too out-of-hand for me. :) Greatly appreciate the quick response. :) - GalacticGalSeasoned Ace

At the top of the website page there is an announcement about this. They rolled out a fix, but there's a link for those who are still experiencing it. Hope this helps you. Here, I tried to copy and paste: AHQ forum & @EAHelp - JanuaryGarnet08New Spectator

As GalacticGal said, you need to contact EA Help if your kits are missing from your game. There was some sort of weird Origin glitch a couple weeks ago that made them disappear from people’s accounts and they were supposed to have fixed it and returned them. But if yours are still missing you need to go to https://help.ea.com
In the menu go to accounts > order management
Once there find where you purchased the kit(s) and write down your order number. Go back out to the EA Help landing page and either submit your information for a phone call from a service representative or a live chat. They will verify your identity as the account owner and then once you give them your order number they will reinstall your kit(s). - LuckylunayreNew Spectator

Don't worry. Like anything that presents a challenge, it's being nerfed in the new patch.
I mean, this is one of the few times it was needed. There's no reason to have a brand new house instantly turn filthy with dust bunnies. That is inexcusable bad game design.
Bust the Dust
We retrained our adorable yet filthy Dust Bunnies to not appear quite so often. We also made some tweaks to the dust situation and we hope now that it doesn’t accumulate as frequently as it has. What’s your favorite name for your Dust Bunny? Mine is Furthur! (Italian Simmers… hope you know what I’m talking about).- GalacticGalSeasoned AceHm. I am just now prepared to purchase the kits. Wondering if I should wait a day? Does the dust just show up, if you have the pack, or do you have to clean first to activate it, so to speak? Please, and thank you, in advance.
