Well I already am about to give up on this event. Currently on the having to find a time capsule in the game and all the dig spots that are ALWAYS in my game seemed to have just disappeared. Can't find a single one.
Hit one of those rocks (I can't remember what you call them.) I hit one that is supposed to give you a metal and it fulfilled the task.
When you mouse over the task, it tells you to search a dirt pile or one of the rocks that gives you a gem. I wasn't sure if I would get it from a rock gives you a metal (that's what was right there), but it I guess it wasn't meant to be so specific.
