Blueprints for houses?

I build my houses from real life, mostly from real estate listings if they include a complete floorplan.

^ That. Real estate listings are a great source for pictures and floorplans. I mostly build houses from movies and tv shows, and those aren't always available, but I always look anyway.

Usually I just kind of wing it lol but looking at real estate listings is a good idea!

I rarely build from scratch now but when I did I'd just Google floor plans. Mostly ranch because I don't like playing multistory homes.

I get by with Google images. Not always the most complete house plans but it gets the job done.

Back when The Sims was new, I would check out housing plan books from the library to try to build houses from. My parents and the librarians probably thought a middle-schooler looking at housing plans was nuts. These days I just use prebuilts or wing it. I do sometimes try to recreate houses whose plans I know from memory.

In the Lots section of the forums, there are a few people that have blueprint-build challenges ( @luckyheather , @alijay ). I'll usually grab one of those if I'm feeling creative. I'm like @simgirl1010 ... I don't like multistory houses very much.

If you like mid-century modern, try looking up Sears House Plans. During the 20s and 30s, Sears would send out kits so you could build your own home. @ShaddBoi put a bunch of houses based on some of them up on the gallery, but you can also find just the plans online.

my very repetitive head that always places living room on one side and dining on another and bedrooms upstairs and completely discards all the other options :lol:

yeah idk i tend to just find picture for exterior ideas and once i have exterior I'm working inside those bounds

I use houseplans.com in case it gets blocked if you google eplans you will find the site I use for my builds.
I love this site because it has everything, and they are sortable by home type.
