Other than that, I would just try to build up a positive emotion to override the Bored mood.
I regret not letting my sim go on the expedition sooner. I was considering the cooler from Outdoor Retreat, but I hadn't thought of the barbecue grill. I will look into that. I could probably have him cloudgaze, which would hopefully be enough to override the bored moodlet. Thanks for the great suggestions!
