update: I went over to the Golden household to play them for just a bit. Mostly, I wanted to get the school aged Sims ready since they all begin school tomorrow in-game. I finally figured out why Erik couldn't ask her to be his girlfriend. They are already girlfriend and boyfriend. Wow, these two work fast with or without me. LOL Maybe I should check their inventories to see if they've sent out wedding invitations.
Fact of the matter is, both hold a resentment toward the other for not inviting the other to the Prom. Yes, even though I gave my Sims the two weeks of summer off, the rest of the Sim world didn't. So, I did get a pop-up to go to prom or skip it. I decided to skip it. Who had time to ask anyone out, right?
But, at least now I believe I know why Erik rolled the Want to break-up with her. Mystery Solved! (Erik, a word of friendly advice. Don't break up over that. Take the initiative and invite her to the Prom, next time.)
