Build a house or get one off the gallery?

I am such an incredibly rotten builder I could never produce anything as awesome as our dedicated builders for all sims series iterations-)

Build. Right now it’s half the fun I have with the game. The other half is CAS.

All of the above. Sometimes I build my own, sometimes I play with the ones that came preinstalled, sometimes I download ones from the gallery, and sometimes I use a preinstalled/downloaded one but remodel it extensively.

Thank God for the Gallery! I haven't built anything in game. Everything is downloaded and then I renovate if necessary.

I think if you are thinking of specific types of houses and aren't super picky/perfectionist about them, then you can place them from gallery. I do this for neighborhood houses. However, for my main sim family's house I built it. It's a large victorian and took 2 weeks to make to my liking but there's a sense of achievement you get from having your own house. :)

It's funny. I used to LOVE building houses/lots in all of the previous games. But, for some reason, I just can't get into it now. Don't know why, I just seem to enjoy the creativity of other simmers more than my own.

Building is WAY too frustrating.

I get them from the gallery, but I always redecorate and sometimes rework the floor plan.

There are so many great builders on the gallery. Of course, many times I will take their buildings an configure them to my needs.
