Builders, help! Can't seem to delete exterior trim

Okay, so I decided to try to fix up my own house for once, and let me tell you: my first experience building in TS4 hasn't been all that great. I've been stuck trying to change the color of this blast...

the house looks great! fences disappear like that when you hover a gate over the fence with bb.moveobjects on.. on. turn it off and place gates over the invisible fence spots and then delete them.
