Builders, help! Can't seem to delete exterior trim

Okay, so I decided to try to fix up my own house for once, and let me tell you: my first experience building in TS4 hasn't been all that great. I've been stuck trying to change the color of this blast...

Yeah I haven’t really figured out building in this game too well either, when I try to alter other people’s buildings for myself I have problems with trims, friezes (sp?) and things like that. Editing fancy built ones really become a problem for me sometimes.
