Building a workplace
I am currently building a work place/office for my sims to go to when they 'work from home'. The idea is to kind of have a feel like an active career because my sims leave their home lot for work task...

I really like your club idea. Especially for the computer related activities I can have other sims do similar tasks.

I don't think so. I put those in for my culinary sims to meet up and practice their work skills and I take pictures for my story and pretend they are at work. They have a bar for mixology practice too.
When they meet there, there is a lot of food and drink available for hungry and thirsty sims lol.
