Buried Treasure and Seashells

Try hosting a Kava Party. If you score high enough, you get treasures and sea shells.

The only way to complete the Sea Shell collection is to blow a conch. This will attract the attention of merfolk and make a household merwoke.

Also, the conch is how you discover merfolk.

Dolphins retrieve collectibles, but the collectibles aren't limited to shells and treasure. I've had dolphins retrieve flowers and various fish. The dolphins are a good way to get around a child of the ocean's reaction to fishing and collecting collectibles that are required for sim life extension.

Angel Fish and Orchids are actually required for stuff like that. Of course, the rare collectibles are more likely but not guaranteed.

That's good to know. I had no idea that dolphins could do that.

I have 31 of the 34 collections completed! Plus the secret collections are completed!

Buried Treasures, Seashells and Fish.

I have tried everything for the buried treasure. I have all my skills maxed and all the tools and what not purchased, but he wont free dive or scuba for anything

It says here that you can find it also while exploring the cave. One of my sims had a few pieces but she never went scuba diving for treasures. Think she must have found them buried in the sand.
