Woah, you just descibed exactly the bugs that I'm experiencing in game right now. Since these latest patches the home maid doesnt do much at all. Before she would have her own vacum cleaner and use it frequently. I've also tried to gift vacum cleansers to the maids but it doesnt work at all :D They don't even clean the houses anymore so it's really annoying.
Yeah and the robot cleaners doesn't work at all. I've kept buyng new ones but it doesnt help at all.
May I ask if you're playing with any mods or without?
