Buying a pack with planning to use the main feature

  This is my first new discussion on the new forum. Apologies if it doesn't look quite right.  Has anyone ever bought a dlc without using the main feature? It kinda feels like a waste of money ...

Bought Outdoor Retreat mainly for the items I could use in my Rags to Riches play, so much easier for both the sim and player when they can sleep in a tent instead napping on benches.  Tried the game play a couple of times and found it more tedious than fun.

I made a campground/park in Glimmerbrook so my spellcasters in other worlds could visit to get their yearly training back before we had vacation rentals. Tents and coolers are very useful!
