This is why The Sims can't please everyone in this community. Someone will always complain and criticize about something. Which camp are you in?
I disagree slightly. I don't want more death per se. I want more unexpected things to happen, less happy happy happy all the time and if in a dangerous setting like a jungle? I expect it live up to what it promises. We will soon see where the dice falls.
There should be more balance in trying to please more than one group of fans.
I think when it came to balance with this pack, I do think it appealed to more then one camp concerning the vacation destination. Selvadorada looks like a nice place that is exotic, where you can meet and be one with the locals, experience their culture, tour the sights and sounds, eat new foods and dances, and generally enjoy the atmosphere of the town bc that is the "safe area" where people who want to vacation there without the jungle can stay there. It is still a vacation world after all.
On the other end, the pack is called "Jungle Adventure" and the Jungle part is a big part of this pack. It was advertised that there will be death and danger and quite a few obstacles in not only the jungle, but also in the temple itself. We don't know much about the jungle yet (and refusing to watch early access reviews of it) but I'm hoping there is a bit more heightened danger with the jungle and the voyage to reach the temple. the Temple itself, while the new concept of the randomized layouts was a great concept to give the temple, I'm not sure it will truly provide enough 'death and danger' that I was so hoping for bc they advertised it so much. Built up so high, and came toppling down.
That's why though, to test how much death and danger there really is in the jungle on the way to the temple and through it, I'll test with two Sims with no skills in anything and no gear to accompany them, and then we'll see how it really is.
