Calling Non-Rotational Players!

As a rotational player, I am adjusting my gameplay style due to my decision to play without mods (if you rotate without mods to a lot of households your sims sadly lose relationships and I don't want this to happen).

What I would like to ask all you non-rotational players is what you find enjoyable about sticking to only one or two households only. What keeps you motivated to play those same sims and how do you change things up now and again? Also, do you play more than one saved game in order to play different sims?

  • @maggiemae8135 it is not difficult at all to manage MCCC, it is always updated pretty quickly and you just go to the site and download it again, extract all the contents and add the main package and script files plus any modules you want into your mods folder.

I installed it yesterday and only kept a few modules. If you just want the relationship decay turned off you only need the main module. This also allows you to turn off headline effects and enable full CAS edit, which I like to do. I decided to also keep Career so I could adjust homework speed for uni and school, and Tuner so I could turn off the darn monster under the bed and all the random flirting that goes on. Lots of useful adjustments without diving into anything too deeply.

  • @elanorbreton Thank you for answering! I have always played my games vanilla, but I feel like this game is getting more unplayable with bugs and some of the features they put in that I feel are not well controlled. I also don't like autonomous flirting, only because it becomes the norm rather than an occasional occurrence. I will have to look into it as I know that mod offers even more. I do have grandsons who can help me if I run into a problem. Thank you again!
  • I enjoy playing the same sims through different stages in life. They start as roommates, then date, then have children, then raise the children. I like playing the same sims because I want all their skills to be very high so they can participate in special activities like communicating with ghosts and building bathtubs to sell or playing instruments for the money. I like to play with occult sims because then your sim can go through being human and then occult and then human again. Or sometimes just earning all the cool powers. I keep things interesting by doing freelancer jobs or having jobless sims because just sending them to work is boring.
  • I play one household through various generations and never rotate. I use MCCC and some other mods to make sure that the lives of their friends and family outside of the main household progress too. I'm a heavy micromanager so rotating would be way too much for me because I also like playing with aging on normal-ish. My Sims have busy schedules, with outings around town at least every other day or so, and normally I'll keep them living in the main household until they max their careers/goals and then they can move out, get married, etc.
