Can’t Save Platformed Rooms

Here’s the dealio, I have been making a LOT of platformed rooms for my TikTok lately that my followers have been begging me to upload to the gallery. Issue is, I cannot select the whole room. I can either select the platformed portion, or the rest of the room which sucks. I know platforms have so many issues… I need a way to save “two rooms” as one. Can I get a Sim guru’s input for this? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • You could lower the platform to normal floor and leave instructions which parts should be raised platform. Unfortunately, platforms are their own rooms, so a room with a platform is actually two rooms.
  • I have a workaround idea that may or may not work:

Don't use the platform tool to make your platforms. Instead, use the room tool to make your full-sized room and then use a low fence to border out where you want to put a platform, then click inside that section and use the arrow keys to raise/lower that platform. Then once you have the platform made, delete the fencing around the edge of it. As a final step, you might also have to use the room tool again to retrace around the same footprint of the original room walls (which will delete all your wallpapers by the way).... and hopefully that won't delete the platform (I've never done it so I'm not sure)?

If all goes right, this trick might still read it as the one room? But I'm not 100% positive on that since I don't ever make or save premade rooms.

After an attempt, I've found it works only when the platform does not touch the walls of the room. Thank you!
