So if a human sim is abducted and "pollinated," they have a hybrid child. If that child then marries a human and they have a baby, is there a chance that the baby will be fully human?
Basically, like generations in to marrying humans, will the alien gene ever get weak enough to be bred out of a bloodline?
@PenguinFoop I actually have never done a legacy challenge, I tend to play with no aging on and I get ridiculously attached to one generation of sims LOL. I am also terrible at following rules when I play since I cannot make myself play without cheating. But if you want to run some ideas past me, I'd be happy to help if I can! It sounds like a cool challenge.
I have a little more time to experiment with alien genetics right now so I'll let you know if I discover anything cool a few more generations in. Gonna see if I can find some aliens in the gallery with more human toned skins and play around with that side of genetics too. I may not play legacy challenges, but I like the challenge of figuring stuff out in super speed with MCCC haha
@PenguinFoop I just found this alien in the gallery - this is his alien form! I'm excited to see what I can do with his genetics since it will be more subtle than the green or blue skin, and hopefully his kids will be able to inherit his human skin tone and not be so obviously carriers of the alien gene, I feel like an alien like this would make gameplay very interesting
lol okay. now that you mention it, I do remember you saying that you like to play with aging off. It must have been someone else that said they'd played the challenge.
Anyway, I should create a brainstorming thread in the challenges forum and see if I can get any help with it. I'll link it in here so you can check it out and give any input suggestions or anything.
As for your experimentation, I love it! Thanks for the input and can't wait to see what else you discover!

Just saw this post. Wow, that is interesting! I wonder if his parents were aliens, hybrids or alien/human. Or maybe how many generations he may be removed from his alien heritage to see if that makes a difference... Is it possible to create an alien in CAS and give them human skin tones? I've never tried...
Ok so these two are siblings - parents are a fully human mom and that alien guy I posted above.
We have one child who is a full alien with powers, and the other who just inherited the skin, but he looks normal since his dad didn't have a typical alien skin color. There is nothing you can do to edit the eyes in her alien form, so while she appears ALMOST human, her eyes are a giveaway (as well as her alien pitch voice, of course). Also there is no way to link her disguise with her alien form, so it looks nothing like this, but I feel like with some editing you could more or less make her disguise and alien form look the same minus the eyes. You can even edit off the pointed ears.
So I had the female alien sim from above have a few kids with an alien hybrid with blue skin (so he had no powers), and again, about half of their kids were aliens and the other half were human, but they all inherited her skin tone.
Made another couple, a purple skinned female alien and a human husband, then used their hybrid kids to have kids with the human skinned toned hybrids from above, got both purple and normal skinned toned babies, so it looks like one wasn't really dominant over the other, and got a good mix of both alien and human kids as well.
So to go deeper into the genetics of each generation, I chose these two sisters, both hybrids with no alien powers, to see if I could get either of them to have an alien baby with a fully human man and to see how dominant the purple skin seemed to be.
It appears that a hybrid without powers can't have an alien baby with a full human, I tried many times and they were all human. It was about a 50/50 shot if the babies of the purple skinned sister were purple or human toned skin though. There did not seem to be any recessive purple skin gene for the sister without purple skin though, all her kids were human toned skin.
The final experiment for tonight. Can a second generation hybrid have alien babies with another hybrid? (While creating more hybrid babies, I also tried to see if a full alien and a human can have an alien baby, but it looks like they can just have hybrids)
And the answer is yes, a second generation hybrid (born from a hybrid parent and a human parent) can have an alien child! I will save these results and perhaps try to go a few generations deeper to see how long the trait stays in the family. It also appears that the alien skin tone is dominant over human skin tones, and if parents have two different alien skin tones, it will be a 50/50 chance of them getting either, but it doesn't look like it's easy to breed the alien skin tone out (though I kind of made that confusing with that human alien skin tone I had going there HAHA)
I personally think it would be cool to start playing with some of the hybrids that have that human like skin tone from that alien I found in the gallery along with some normal human sims, but you don't know which ones are human and which ones are hybrids, so you could just randomly end up with some alien babies as complete surprises!
Ok, I did one more quick test tonight. If you change a hybrid's skin tone in CAS full edit mode, they can still have full alien babies, but their baby's skin tones will now be a mix of their parents if they both have human tones, and they might still get a human tone even if one has an alien skin tone. But you need at least one of your hybrids to have a human skin tone in there to make sure that one of the alien ones isn't dominant. As far as I could tell, when I had aliens and humans have babies, the alien skin always was dominant when it was a full alien parent. Looks like hybrids can have a bit more variety as long as there's human skin tone from one of the parents
Ok so I couldn't go to bed without testing a few more generations in HAHA. So basically I just had my hybrids keep having kids with full humans for like 4 generations. I would stop and test each generation to see if they could have alien babies. It seems like chances get slimmer and slimmer the further into the generations you go without having a kid with another hybrid, but the hybrid trait seems to get passed on through the generations since in each generation that I had two hybrids have a baby, they eventually were able to have a full powered alien baby. So like 4 generations removed from that second generation hybrid I posted about above, their decedents still have a trace of that hybrid gene and can have a small chance of having an alien baby if they get together with another hybrid (I had to make them have like 6 babies before they got an alien baby, but it is possible!) I feel like I tested deep enough to be satisfied, at least for now ;)
Obviously if you have one of your several generation of hybrids have a kid with a full powered alien, you can definitely get an alien that way too (and your chances might even be greater that way). So in conclusion, if both sides of the family have alien blood somewhere in the line, it appears that they can have a chance of having an alien baby (at least like 5 or 6 generations in...maybe even indefinitely?), even if there's no full aliens for a few generations. I don't know if hybrids have any other special powers/traits except the ability to pass on the alien gene through the generations. They look like normal sims in CAS mode except for their skin color if they have an alien skin color.
Sorry for spamming this thread with responses, but I figured it was all actually relevant so hopefully it will come in handy to those who want to try to have a legacy with some alien genes popping up through the generations
