If you remember in Sims 1, 2, and 3 they could at least learn tricks, in 2 they could have jobs, in 3 you could control them and they had skills (well developed hunting in my opinion). I think it is more symptomatic of dropping the pets ball than anything. Kids have been bathing dogs since Sims 1 (had a stool) and now they cannot. They also cannot walk them. These were basic chores for child pet owner me.
So yeah. It is a shame, but I am not surprised. If any pack gets extra work, I really hope it is Cats and Dogs.
Cats could have jobs in sims 2? Lol awesome. I can imagine some of mine would have been employed as pest exterminators.
Yeah. Dogs and cats could be in the service, security, or showbiz careers. They learned certain tricks for their promotions.
