Can I Keep Her? or Can You Have A Live In Nanny?

With the new babies I found hiring a nanny helped out a lot. A sweet little grandma nanny came over with her little suitcase so I made a pretty room just for her. The problem is that she (Eleanor) stayed for a while then left. She left her bag but she never came back. I checked to make sure she hadn't died, she hadn't (whew!) OK, I thought, I must have accidentally lost her so I'll hire her again. I called to hire a nanny and got a different nanny (a rando) and he's the one who comes over now, unfortunately, he's not as good at taking care the baby and newborn and I had non stop bawling children. argh.

My questions are:
Can I get Eleanor back (She's in an NPC household) or can I choose my own nanny and, most importantly, can I get a permanent live in nanny? (Can it be done without mods?)

If not, maybe a live in nanny option would be a great addition to TS4 as a job or feature since babies are now free and a lot more labor intensive.

Fellow simmers what are your workarounds for keeping a nanny around?

@KestrelDC Give Eleanor Sullivan a try, she's one of the NPCs from San Sequoia and she's in the Sullivan-Luna household. I did get into her cas and removed the Mischief aspiration and changed it to Creative to cut down on toilet pranking. She got everything under better control with the first baby, I did not have her when the newborn came along, I haven't reconnected with her yet to see how she does with both bundles of screaming...ahem, bundles of joy. ;)

Cool, thanks for the recommendation! I feel like an actual parent getting advice from a fellow parent! :D

Unfortunately I do not have Growing Together yet, but am hoping to get it soon!
  • I didn't know that Sims 4 can actually have a nanny now with Growing Together. Very nice. ;)
  • @SERVERFRA nannies actually came in an update back in 2016. Changes may have been made with Growing Together but I'm not sure.

It is a pleasure, with infants I suggest rather selecting the infant and clicking on the parent to do things. Get bath from ... get fed by ... and so on. It seems to work better than having the parent selected :) Also put infant on playmat and have infant selected and say look at toys.... play with toys. They stop crying and do as they are told immidiately ;)

Thank you. I shall have to reorient myself to doing things this way; I'm finding my parent Sims drop the change diaper for just changing the outfit. Face/palm. The kid's got a green plume surrounding his diapered parts, hello.
