Can kids taken away by child services be adopted back W/O mods?

My sims had their 1 day newborn taken away..not even 12 hours since he was born. It was completely my fault and not theirs! My sim had an audition 1 hour after giving birth so she couldn't feed him ri...

I just had my first kid taken away in Sims 4 (and had one in Sims 2). There was literally nothing wrong with this toddler other than he had to go to the bathroom. They were on vacation and no potties were available! It's one of my favorite families and I'm super unhappy about it. :s
