I decided to play a Sims 4 Legacy Challenge and my founder is a lesbian. I chose the rule that heirs need to be the opposite gender and now I have had FIVE baby girls in a row. Is it not possible for lesbians who get pregnant with their wife's babies via "try for baby" to have boys? I know that scientifically, it would not be possible, since two females have no Y chromosome to pass down, but this is a game and is hardly scientifically accurate, so I assumed having boys would be possible.
I have several lesbian couples in my game(s) and a few of them have boys. One couple has twin boys. It doesn't make a difference to the game, I think its random. As far as the concern about the y chromosome and passing it down from two x chromosomes, I think it wouldn't matter anyway because as of yet, I don't think its possible to have a child linked biologically to two female or two male people yet in real life either. Maybe some day science will find a way, but for now, our sims get to do something that our real life counter parts cannot.
So I agree that it would make sense for them to only be able to have girls or only have boys depending on the couple dynamics, but I am so glad its not the case. I love that all my simmies can have a random shot at either/or.
