No, it works like vampires. You won't see any Mermaid traits until they are teens.
Well yeah that's what I mean will the babies be Mermaids when they become older?
I think I heard that there is a chance that the child could be a mermaid when they become a teen, if one or both of the parents are mermaids. Just like vampires. So, if that’s correct, then yes, teens can inherit the mermaid genes.
