Can pets go swimming in the ocean?
I read on the Sims wiki that they can, but for some reason my Sim's dog won't go into the water. Am I doing something wrong??

- Dogs definitely swim in the ocean. Unless they are hydrophobic, but the game will have notified you of that when the dog first came into contact with water.
But, my dog needed some time to start swimming in the ocean. I did "swim here with..." a couple of times but she was rather reluctant so I decided to let her be. Then several days later she just started swimming randomly and she seems to be enjoying it. I've seen her get into the water much more frequently after that. I haven't seen her swim past the very shallow parts of the ocean though, but she is a small dog (though I don't expect that to matter).

- My Sims dog, Molly (in the pic below) is obsessed with water.....ocean, pool.....you name it and she's in it.

But in my other Save, my Sims dog wont' swim at all and won't go near water. I never got a notification that she was scared of water. I thought it was a hidden trait or something. I've never seen dog like Molly that will just swim on her own and wont' really do much of anything else, whereas my other dog just stands there LOL. I'm wondering if traits have any impact on swimming. My other dog is Jumpy and she is scared of everything. - Maybe your dog is hydrophobic? If so, there is a cheat to remove that trait.

Hmm... he is jumpy! I'll look into that, thanks. Didn't realize it was a thing!- There is a tip out there that if you want to get a dog swimming in ocean, click on ocean and choose Swim Here with... and choose the dog.

That dog is so adorable. What breed is that?- Gosh, I didn't know that dogs could do that! That's so adorable, I'm definitely trying it when I've got the pack in my hands.
