Can someone explain to me what's so great about witches?

I think you have had to have played The Sims and Sims 2 to appreciate the fun witches were. Witches arriving on broomsticks when your party is just going into a restaurant, their cats, good and bad ones and lots of interactions. I haven't played 2 for a while but someone who still plays it could tell you.
