I watch neither builds nor LPs. But I imagine watching a build from start to finish would serve useful as either inspiration or for learning how to use build mode in general. LPs (from the little I've seen of them) are like.. oh, here's some sim from somebody's legacy being ultra scandalous by having an unfaithful marriage again because that's one of the only ways to tell a dramatic story in this game.
But that's the point, right? Different forms of entertainment are going to appeal to different people. Some people like to be told a story and others don't
